We
are pleased to announce Cinesound, the most intriguing and historically
significant sound effects collection ever, the world's largest online
resource for sound effects and music samples. Stored in the hidden vaults of Elstree Film Studios it contains nearly 4 million unique sounds.
The Cinesound library spans decades of motion pictures and world history, including sounds from every James Bond film made to date, Zulu, Platoon, Midnight Express, The Battle of Britain, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and numerous other cinema classic's.
Some of the unearthed collection's most important original sounds include the harrowing recording of the World War 11 bombing of Portsmouth harbor, Sir Winston Churchill's state funeral, and a very rare recording from the Bismarck.
The on-line availability of such historic moments will bring the past to life for us all and will be of special value to Filmmakers, Musicians, Web Designers, Theater's, Museums and Production Companies.
We will in time enable everybody to search, listen and experience these sounds for free regardless of how offbeat or obscure.
The Managing Director Lloyd Billing says: "This collection is truly unique, it has been recorded by the worlds greatest sound recordist's and contains sounds that no other library could possibly achieve, like huge 1000 plus crowd scenes from the movie Cromwell, Multiple Spitfires passing dangerously close overhead, speedboat chases along the river Thames etc.
It's a massive undertaking to digitise and catalogue this vast collection but I am proud to undertake it!"
